Tough viz? Wave thy magic wand
January is NSAA's National Safety Month! This week's topic is "Après means After": Alcohol or drug use can result in impaired motor skills and judgment, increasing the chances of an accident that could harm yourself or others. Save these activities for after you've wrapped up skiing and riding for the day and drive sober. You can find information on our Smoking Policy and Drugs & Alcohol policy here.
Friday 1/23:
7:00am Update: Happy Friday! Operations teams have been hard at work this week, assessing and preparing westside terrain to reopen. This morning, we welcome the return of both Outback and Northwest into our operating footprint (conditions permitting). It is recommended that only advanced skiers/riders enter westside terrain, as there will be no beginner or intermediate groomed routes. Be aware that a portion of Kangaroo will be closed, as will the West Bowls, awaiting more snow. Check the Lift and Trail Status daily for to see what's been groomed; updated each day around 7:30am. With these additions, skiers and riders will once again be able to choose from a selection of 10 chairlifts and over 100 open runs. Ski area boundaries will be Upper Osprey Way > Sparks Lake Run on the west and the East Bowls > East Catchline on the east.
We're experiencing some hazy conditions this morning, with current temps in the mid 20s across the hill. It looks like the fog is expected to burn off, as today's forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies and moderate winds, with a high in the upper 30s.
Be Advised: Coverage is thin across the mountain. Please stick to open/named runs, expect marked and unmarked obstacles, and ski or ride with caution. Expect firm conditions, especially in shaded areas and to start the day. Always keep your speed in check and stay in control.
