Tough viz? Wave thy magic wand
Thursday 2/19:
7:00am Update: We're welcomed by a beautifully still and serene Mt. Bachelor this morning, with 2" of light and dry powder freshly blanketing the slopes last night. We could see heavy snowfall throughout the day, possibly adding another 2-4" to our base depth. Slightly warmer than yesterday, we're seeing current temps in the teens with an expected high in the mid 20s. Yesterday's moderate winds also subsided overnight and are expected to remain calm. It's going to be a great day of pow laps out there, and we can't wait to share it with you all.
As it is once again Play Forever Thursday, we're hosting the Central Oregon Avalanche Center near Cocoa's in the West Village Lodge between 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Stop by to speak to their reps and learn more about their mission. Lift tickets are available online for just $99, with a portion of each purchase being donated to this local non-profit organization.
Despite recent snowfall, coverage remains thin across the mountain. Please stick to open/named runs, expect marked and unmarked obstacles, and ski or ride with caution. Always keep your speed in check and stay in control.
Snow immersion suffocation (SIS) and tree well risk exist today. Ski or ride with a partner and keep them in sight at all times. Stick to open, groomed trails to minimize SIS hazards. Educate yourself on deep snow safety here.
Be prepared for winter driving - AWD/4WD, high-clearance vehicles, and chains or snow tires are recommended. Check ODOT for real-time weather, traffic, and road conditions.
